Study Stream is a free online platform that connects students from all over the world using Zoom or Discord app, with the aim of making the students feel a real world environment when studying alone at home. 

This is especially helpful for those who are studying at home and looking for a peer-to-peer group session.

This platform permits students from across the world to learn in the "Focus room" via the Zoom app or Discord app.

The platform resembles the popular Youtube Study with me videos, but the difference is that on this site, students and friends from all around the world will sit and read with you in real time. It is like you are video chatting with your pals and meeting new folks from all around the world. 

Study stream has some advantages. Let us take a look at them.

‎Advantages of Study Stream: ‎

  1. Study stream allows you to participate in international voice calls with students from all around the world.
  2. Allows you to concentrate for longer periods of time and avoid distractions at school.
  3. As all audio sources are turned off by default, make sure it's silent.
  4. Allow no personal discussion between members to ensure that pupils remain focused and safe.

How Study Stream works?

  • Go to the Focus Room page and select the server you want to join.
  • To make use of the platform, you need to first sign in to Zoom,
  • After signing in to zoom or discord, you are expected to accept the terms and conditions, and you should also read through the rules,
  • Study with other students from around the world

Note: If you are just joining study stream for the first time, what you have to do is to click on New? Click here, as seen in the screenshot above.

You will then see the option to join a live onboarding session and a timer with a live countdown to the next event. At the start of the event, click ‘Join Session’ as seen in the red box.

If you have a Discord account, then you can click on the Join Discord option as seen on the above screenshot, to join a room.

Students sometimes get tired of reading alone, if you fall into this category, then you should think about going out and reading with friends at a coffee shop, a university or your school library. 

But if you don't have friends to go out with to read, you should try to adopt the study stream platform to keep you going. This will create an atmosphere of reading with international friends in the Study Stream Zoom Focus room or Discord platform.
