How to Apply

  • How to Apply: To compete for the competition 2020, interested applicants must write and submit an essay to scholarship@kidatschool.com with Essay Writing Contest 2020 in the email’s subject to participate.
  • At the very beginning of your paper, must make available the info about your school and education along with your full name, country, and email.
  • Supporting Documents: None
  • Entry Requirements: Write your paper (completed essay) in English only that should contain 500-700 words and send in Docx or PDF format.
  • Language Requirement: Knowledge of the English language is must to participate in the contest.

Google Hash Code Challenge 2021 for Students/Professionals in Africa, Europe and Middle East

Google Hash Code Challenge is a team-based programming competition organized by Google for students and industry professionals (18+) across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. You pick your team and programming language, Google picks a real-life engineering problem to solve.

About Google Hash Code Challenge

For each round of the competition google will present a problem (see past problems in Program webpage below) and your team will write a program that generates a solution. 
Your team can submit as many solutions as you’d like using the online Judge System, and a live scoreboard will let you know how you stack up against the competition. 
Top scoring teams will win cool Google prizes, because of course you can’t host a programming competition without something to work for! Convinced?

Eligible Countries: 

countries in Africa, Europe and Middle East

To be taken at (country): For the Online Qualification Round, your team can participate from anywhere. To make this round a bit more exciting, you can volunteer to organize a hub (e.g. at your university) where local teams can come together to compete.

The Final Round will take place in Dublin, Ireland

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Google Hash Code is open to university students and industry professionals in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
  • Participants register and compete in teams of two to four.
  • Registration is free
  • The only thing you need for the Online Qualification Round is a computer connected to the Internet. The Hangout on Air will be available on YouTube, so if you can watch YouTube videos on your computer then you should be able to view it. The Judge System will be available as a web application, compatible with recent web browsers. For the rest of your computer setup, you’re free to use the tools and programming languages of your choice.

Selection Process: 

Top scoring teams from the Online Qualification Round will be notified and invited to the Final Round at Google Dublin. 
Google will present a second challenge, and the winning teams will be awarded cool Google prizes. 
In addition to the competition, participants will also get the chance to learn more about Google through a variety of tech talks and presentations.

Number of Winners: 

No specific number

Value of Google Hash Code Challenge: 

For the Final Round, the three teams with the highest scores will be awarded cool Google prizes. Every participant will also get a certificate of qualification to the Final Round and a gift bag.

How to Apply for the Google Hash Code Challenge: 

You should carefully review the rules of the competition. It may also be helpful to look at problem statements from past editions of Hash Code. We encourage you to practice together with your teammates, and agree on the programming languages and tools you’d like to use.

The only thing you need for the Online Qualification Round is a computer connected to the Internet.

University of Bristol Scholarship 2020/2021 for Students with Exceptional Talent

University of Bristol Scholarship 2020: The  University of Bristol Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship scheme is open to undergraduate students with exceptional musical, dramatic or sporting talent.

About the University of Bristol Scholarship 2020 Award: 

The scheme is open to students applying to any undergraduate course at the University of Bristol. As the scheme is designed to attract students with exceptional abilities outside their normal field of study, a Music student would not be eligible for a music scholarship, and a Drama student would not be eligible for a drama scholarship.

Type: Undergraduate

Eligibility: 

Students applying for a single or joint honours Music degree will not be eligible for a Music scholarship.

Students applying for a single or joint honours Drama degree will not be eligible for a Drama scholarship.

Students applying for a Liberal Arts degree will not be eligible for a Drama Scholarship if they follow the Film or Theatre subject pathways.

University of the West of England: UWE Bristol Chancellor’s Masters Scholarship 2020/2021 for International Students

Applicants must be able to demonstrate outstanding artistic, creative or sporting potential. Awards will be made on a competitive basis but applicants will normally be expected to satisfy the following minimum criteria:

  • Music/vocal awards: A minimum of Grade VIII in examinations offered by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (or equivalent).
  • Those students short listed for a scholarship will be required to attend an audition in Bristol at the end of February or beginning of March 2020.
  • Full details will be sent to short listed students during the first two weeks in February. Any students invited to audition, who are not able to attend on the advertised date, will not be considered for a scholarship.
  • Travel Bursaries to attend the audition are available for home (UK) students from lower income families (normally those with household incomes of £42,875 or less).
  • Drama awards: Evidence of sustained extra-curricular engagement with theatre and/or filmmaking, along with distinguished achievement in relevant school subjects (eg theatre studies, film studies or other arts/humanities subjects).
  • Sporting awards: Successful applicants will have had considerable success at representative level. It would be unusual for an award to be given to a student who had not had International honours, at least at Junior level.
  • Although a student might apply for other scholarships, such as the government funded Talented Athlete Sports Scheme awards, the holder of a Vice-Chancellor’s award must not hold other funded sporting grants.

Selection Criteria:

Successful candidates will be expected to put Bristol as their firm choice in the first instance, and with regards to their scholarship offer, either:

  1. Successfully audition for the University’s Symphony or Chamber orchestras, or University Singers or Chamber Choir (keyboard players would participate in Chamber ensemble playing, approved by the Music Department) and participate in other musical opportunities offered from time to time by the Department of Music.
  2. Contribute substantially to the output of the University of Bristol Union (UBU) DRAMSOC, Spotlights, or Music Theatre Bristol societies
  3. Become a member of the Performance Sports Squad.

Selection Process: The applications are ranked and at least the top ten in each field are then forwarded, with the experts’ recommendations, to Pro Vice-Chancellors for the final selection. The Pro Vice-Chancellors make the final selection of no more than 20 scholarships, with at least six reserves.

Number of Awardees: No more than 20 scholarships are usually awarded within an academic year. This will be confirmed in due course.

Value of Scholarship: Historically, scholarships in Music and Drama have been valued at £3,000. Scholarships in Sport have been valued at £1,500.

Duration of Scholarship: One year. Scholarship will be renewed if the conditions above are met.

Application Deadline: 2nd March 2020.
